Just 15 minutes east of the main airport that services all of the Turks & Caicos Islands is Bight Park Beach, a perfect bright white beach with equally bright blue and turquoise waters. It’s tailor-made for sunning, swimming, beach volleyball and water sports (sailing and snorkeling are the favorites) at one of the most relaxed paces in the Caribbean.
If R&R isn’t enough for you on this sunny (350 days a year of sunshine!) island, then there are several things to do locally, including exploring the native botanical gardens and National Environmental Centre, and studying the coral gardens and reef, and underwater park, where kids can meet Jo-Jo the dolphin. You can even learn how to grow a conch!
At Bight Park Beach on gorgeous Grace Bay, there are bonus features like the children’s playground, picnic cabanas and volleyball courts. Don’t miss the Fools Regatta, an annual family fair at the children’s park that offers conch-blowing “music”, boat races and the festive kite-flying competition. Great golfing is had at several nearby courses, and the area is littered with spas. Deep-sea fishing is a popular sport and adds a thrill to the relaxation of your visit to Bight Park Beach.
There are eight occupied islands in the Turks & Caicos Island chain; 32 more are uninhabited, many pf those small cays. It’s one of the most beautiful island groups in the Caribbean, a British possession with 30,000 permanent residents, and very low in crime. Provo is the most westerly and most developed of the islands and offers the best in luxury resorts, most of those located at stunning Bight Park Beach.
