Located on the east coast of Corfu, Dassia Beach lacks the luxury resorts common at other beach locations throughout the island, but has other attributes that make it the destination of choice for many travelers, especially those from Britain.
Dassia Beach is a strolling, beachcombing location, a long, flat narrow strip of beach surrounded by verdant hills that make for a relaxing backdrop. The water here is fairly calm, making it safe and especially suitable for water-skiing.
The beach is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, a common feature of public beaches in Corfu, and there are showers available, which are of great use to campers, but washrooms are a bit hard to locate (start with the tavernas and restaurants).
The money you save by staying at Dassia Beach is a bonus and can be spent elsewhere or just let it enable you to stay here longer. The promenade is beautiful at night, lit by the stars and low lamps, lined with flowers. It’s romantic on the cheap.
