On the western side of Corfu and within 9 miles (15 kilometers) of the town of Corfu, Glyfada Beach is just big enough to offer beach vacationers all they need
and not suffer anything they don’t want to bother with. But getting there is more than half the battle. A smooth, paved road dissolves into little more than a track, littered with hairpin
turns and wild dips; it’s a scary ride, but worth it!
There are great attractions near Glyfada Beach, including a golf course, equestrian club and a marine park, so on a rainy day or if you’ve just had enough sand and surf, there are
sufficient things of interest to occupy a few hours or an entire day. And wind out the day in a fine-dining restaurant or luxury hotel; food and accommodations run the gamut at Glyfada
Beach and the town.
Water sports are big at this beach, with water-skiing, jet-skiing, bodyboarding and surfing being the favorites. Swimming is wonderful here, especially when you work up a sweat first
playing beach volleyball. Or grab a shower at the beachside stalls (but there are no restrooms on the beach).
The variety at Glyfada Beach and resort town makes it a perfect locale for a week-long linger or a fun weekend. It’s got the best of the beach and the town in tandem.
