Kassiopi Beach wishes it were a glittering metropolis hosting movie stars and millionaires, but it’s a tiny beach in a cute little town
that manages to hold its own by offering the height of boutique shopping, fine dining and a vibrant nightlife. The beach itself is fairly disappointing, but that
is not what makes this resort pulsate with fun.
While there are some quieter spots at the far ends of the beach, the portion that borders the town and town square with its bars and discotheques has been called
“touristy” and “kitschy”, but it’s not for everyone. Young couples and families will find plenty to do here, but peace-seekers should look elsewhere.
The ruins of a castle loom above the harbor, and there are lots of spots to walk, including among the shops. Unlike some other Corfu Beaches, Kassiopi has washroom and
shower facilities right at the beach, along with sunbeds and umbrellas; the beach is frequently visited by sea urchins, so sandals are mandatory. The waterfront area
of the town is picture-postcard pretty and the colorful buildings give it a festive sensibility.
