It seems likely that this beach was named after its resident restaurant; if so, it may be because the 150-seat establishment covers a lot of the beach area! Be that as it may, the Mexican Colonial architecture is enchanting and this is a fine beach to while away a day relaxing or playing.
This is a gorgeous beach with perfect white sands and unusually pale turquoise water, making for an interesting palette from nature. Just off the San Francisco Reef, the area is rich with marine life and therefore a fabulous spot to snorkel or scuba dive. Diving tours are a regular feature; they make for a more informative diving session with a guide to demonstrate the best spots to visit and to understand what you are observing under the water.
Other favorite sports here are jet skiing (you can rent jet skis), beach volleyball, and all manner of water sports. Catch a glass-bottom boat tour and explore the living waters from a dry place! Just remember that when you are bent over (looking down) in a moving vehicle, you may develop dizziness.
Integral to the activity of Mr. Sanchos Beach is the freshwater swimming pool with its waterfall and Jacuzzi. It’s a blissful way to wash the saltwater away and relax. Afterwards, browse the small shops and bargain with the merchants.
Mr. Sanchos Beach is unique in Cozumel; few other places afford such “kitsch”, but it’s all delivered with thematic fun and isn’t taken seriously. That makes this a great beach for the family, especially with young children.
