While Paradise Beach isn’t quite the zoo that its neighbor, Playa Mia Beach, is, this is still a very active beach with lots to do and it’s a bit noisy if what you need and want is peace and quiet.

Coated with wide blue beach umbrellas and white lounge chairs, Paradise Beach is packed, sometimes like sardines lined up in a tin, most days, more so on weekends. A long pier protrudes into the water and from there you can fish or daydream over the ocean. Organized snorkeling trips leave from this pier.

Located 5.5 miles (9 kilometers) from San Miguel de Cozumel, this beach is easily accessible on the Coastal Road and therefore draws a lot of visitors. It’s a family-oriented beach with constant activity. For children, there is a trampoline with a type of “Jolly Jumper” attachment that lets kids bounce safely. There is also a faux “iceberg” just offshore, a place where children play and dive, frolic and giggle in ready access to their parents on the beach.

Women will enjoy shopping at the beachwear shop, but the unofficial bikini contest on the beach will leave most ladies wishing they had gone on a diet months before! With all the amenities any beach could offer, Paradise Beach provides freshwater showers, clean public washrooms, and a respectable beach bar and restaurant.

Play in the gentle surf, rent a kayak and go for a slow tour of the nearby reefs, or join in the palm tree-climbing events! There is natural shade for relaxation, but not much opportunity to relax at busy Paradise Beach.
